SUMMARY:
Assist in the group sales department; assist with all group programs, reserve and confirm group program features; lead group tours of COPIA and the gardens; prepare materials for group arrivals, group sales and marketing activities.

SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Meet groups upon arrival to COPIA, Tuesday-Saturday, Wednesday-Sunday
· Lead group tours of COPIA and the gardens and exhibits
· Conduct and prepare set-up of meet & greet (wine & a treat) and group briefings
· Reserve group space within the COPIA facility, including special needs
· Confirm group programs with program department
· Interact with group visitors during their visit
· Prepare group materials
· Participate in large festivals attended and marketed by the group department
· Present garden education topics at outdoor educational stations as necessary

· Gain hands-on practical experience with group program coordination
· Learn about group coordination and group program development
· Practice public speaking and teaching skills by presenting COPIA to groups
· Coordinate groups of all sizes from 15-150 with food, wine, arts and garden special interests
· Develop food, wine and art niche group market contacts

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Intermediate computer skills especially Microsoft Office Suite® (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), including familiarity with Internet research is required
· Relational database experience preferred
· Strong organizational skills
· Presentation and communication skills
· Interest in working with the public
· Phone and emailing experience
· Sales background
· Basic knowledge of wine & culinary terms
· Passionate about food, wine, gardening and the arts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Basic knowledge of tourism and the group travel market
· Background in education desirable
· Strong communication skills
· Available to work most Saturdays to meet and give group tours
· Ability to walk distances to lead tours throughout COPIA and the 3½ acres of gardens
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time, sit for two-hour intervals per day, able to operate a computer and telephone.
· Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as boxes, promotional materials, etc.
