SUMMARY:
The Audio Visual Support Tech is responsible to assist with live sound reinforcement, video production and live, multimedia driven presentations at Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food, and the Arts. Acquire the skills to use video production and sound equipment while being exposed to basic editing and video control room functions.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
§ During concerts and events, assist operators and help with every faucet of the production (sound, lighting, video)
§ Use a video or still camera to shoot elements for videos
§ Manage a DVD archive project
§ Assist with small editing projects & building graphical elements
§ Interfaces with COPIA staff as required by supervisor
§ Actively integrates the Professional Standards and the Service Standards into daily interactions, whenever representing COPIA
§ Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
§ Flexible schedule allowing for evenings and weekends
§ Knowledge of VTR’s, Computers (Windows especially) and use of a video camera preferred
Ability to work seated or standing for 8 hours a day in 2-hour increments
§ Available to regularly work evenings, weekends and holidays
§ Be able to sit or stand for extended periods (up to four hours), ability to lift and move heavy items such as sound, video and lighting equipment, up to 30 lbs.
§ Have the ability to foster collaborative working relationships with a variety of staff, volunteers, professionals, vendors and trustees
§ Be articulate; have an engaging personality; be friendly and approachable
