Exam: Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Location: Cellar360 San Francisco at historic Ghirardelli Square
Requires no previous wine knowledge and is appropriate for students with an interest in wine, as well as those who would like to expand their knowledge. The course covers the major types, and includes tastings of more than 40 different wines and spirits of the world. The final exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. Successful completion of the exam earns students the Intermediate Certificate of the WSET®.

Recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. Wines and spirits of the world are covered in considerable depth. (Please see brochure for curriculum.) Lectures and discussions are supplemented with slides and in-depth tastings of more than 90 wines. The final exam consists of multiple-choice questions, short written answers and a blind tasting of one wine. Successful candidates receive the Advanced Certificate of the WSET, which is a prerequisite for the two-year Diploma Program.
